The Liverpool head coach acknowledged that it's natural for doubts to be raised about his position after another heavy defeat against PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds endured their 9th loss in twelve games, representing the club's poorest streak after being demoted in 1953-54.
They were taken apart by the Dutch league champions on a punishing evening at their home ground.
“I feel secure, things are alright, I've received significant support from above,” Slot commented.
“It would be great to reverse this trend and earn three points of course but if you are in a managerial role and underperforming then it's expected that questions are asked.”
He noted, “I accept my position. This isn't the first time I’ve been in a tough spot but it's crucial that we changed our fortunes.”
Upon being questioned to elaborate on his dialogues with the team officials, the head coach explained:
“We communicate frequently. They are helpful for the squad and to me and we discuss these matters but they don’t call me constantly each day to say they back me.”
He further stated, “Through standard conversations we have I feel the belief. But I haven’t spoken to them after this game yet so we'll see.”
Slot lamented recurring weaknesses from his squad in their Champions League defeat, specifically missed opportunities and leaking goals.
Meanwhile, player Curtis Jones was more direct in his view of the club’s predicament.
“I haven't got the answers. Truthfully, I do not. I'm telling that to all,” Jones remarked.
“It is unacceptable. I don’t even have to wait to reflect. I’m past being angry internally. I've reached the stage now where I just don’t have the words.”
He went on, “It's difficult because I play for the team I support. I’m a fan, and I’ve seen this club for years.”
“In recent memory, I've not seen a Reds side enduring a phase like this with results this poor.”
He finished, “However we still have the crest on our chest. And as long as it is taken away, we will always fight.”
“Our aim is to get this team return to where it needs to be, demonstrate to all again the values of this club and why people call it the greatest side in the planet.”
“But right now, we're in trouble and it must improve.”
