How would you do with infinite ability? That's the central inquiry posed by all best sci-fi as well as fantastical narratives. What if you were granted extraordinary powers? Perhaps stumbled upon a miraculous substance? What about each and every single human became wholly committed to your satisfaction? Could you use such power for good, or succumb to your darker impulses?

The television series ranked herein each explore that very theme in distinct manners (with one key exception). Presented below is our ranking of the 10 best installments of sci-fi and fantastical TV from 2025.

10. Spider-Man: Your Friendly Neighborhood

An innovative take on Spider-Man

Despite over six decades of stories, Spider-Man continues to be reimagined by new talent. This series delivers a refreshing look at the character's early days, skillfully combining essential comic elements with ideas from the broader Marvel universe to craft something which is simultaneously fresh and deeply compelling.

Rather than operating alone or having Tony Stark as a guide, this iteration of Peter Parker develops a complex partnership with Norman Osborn, who in this story is merely the CEO of Oscorp. Through their dynamic, Peter becomes a true hero, internalizing the iconic lesson of power and responsibility.

9. Hazbin Hotel Season 2

Showrunner Vivienne Medrano's boldly transgressive mature musical-comedy series, which sprang from a crowdfunded pilot, truly found its footing in its sophomore season. Building on the climactic revelations of the first season, the narrative expands significantly, following the ambitious TV demon Vox who takes command of the narrative, sparking a series of increasingly explosive confrontations that inevitably culminate in show-stopping song.

Although it may lack a single viral song on the level of season one's "iconic tune," this is due to everything in season 2 being increasingly complex. The action, character development, and especially the score and songs are all elevated. The season advances the main plot dramatically while delivering no shortage of bizarre, wild, and simply fun dark fantasy.

8. Daredevil: Born Again

Following the legendary Netflix series, Daredevil: Born Again had enormous shoes to fill. After significant production challenges, the resulting product proves it was worthy of the wait. The plot follows Matt Murdock once his dual life as Daredevil is publicly revealed, leaving him vulnerable to foes from his past and new threats in a refreshed version of his well-known setting.

The premiere is explosive, evoking the gritty tone audiences loved from the prior incarnation. Although the middle chapters venture into some different territory, the first season concludes on a strong note, setting viewers eagerly anticipating a follow-up installment.

7. Common Side Effects

A surprising 2025 highlight, this show is essentially an animated crime saga filtered through the sensibility of a suburban satire. Helmed by an Adult Swim veteran and writer Steve Hely, it tells the story of a nerdy mycologist who finds a curative fungus and quickly finds himself hunted by forces including unscrupulous Big Pharma CEOs to government authorities.

Far from being a spoof, the narrative plays out with the grave atmosphere of a 1970s paranoia thriller. Accentuated by hallucinogenic visuals and an unnerving musical soundtrack, the story explores deeper questions about the substance's full capabilities. It's a intelligent, visually striking, and completely gripping first season.

6. Fallout Season 2

The hit series based on the popular video game franchise came back with a second season of episodes that expanded its sprawling mystery and broadened its post-apocalyptic setting. Although it ventures toward the fan-favorite location of New Vegas, the season is not a direct adaptation of that game; rather, it continues to explore ideas of authority and autonomy.

The show skillfully balances several storylines and perspectives, from Lucy's quest for justice to Maximus's reckoning with the dogma of the Brotherhood of Steel. The outcome is a deeply detailed and utterly engaging addition to the ever-growing wasteland mythology.

5. Invincible Season 3

The visceral and emotionally charged adult animation series keeps its winning momentum in season 3. Mark Grayson confronts immense pressure on all side: preparing for a coming Viltrumite invasion, mentoring his powered brother, and clashing with his secretive GDA. The story once again features some of the most brutally brutal fight scenes the series has ever delivered.

Mark's physical and emotional endurance are repeatedly tested. He must contend with opponents stronger than himself, the consequences of his battles, and the moral weight of his choices. Excellent arcs for key characters such as Cecil Stedman and Rex Splode complete a fantastic installment.

4. Peacemaker Season 2

James Gunn's offbeat anti-hero show came back with elevated significance within the revamped DC canon, and season 2 executes on both fronts. Although it effectively establishes groundwork for future DCU stories, it primarily presents a resonant and focused {
