Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Military Operations.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Manama, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area close to the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - all home to US military bases - reported they have shot down missiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence said it had successfully engaged several missiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the attack on the Islamic Republic launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That preceding assault - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.
Additional Developments
In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates stated that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems dealt with the missiles with high efficiency and shot down a several projectiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage landed in a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
