I will overwhelm 'credible boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight Jake Paul in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former twice world boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive mismatch - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I'm here to prove my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, stated.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked ex Joshua rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Commercial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Physical Difference
As Joshua and Paul engaged in the traditional face-off, with their physical disparity on show, it drove home just how improbable this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly happening.
